New York City Part 1
Hello! From NYC part 1. After being here for only a couple hours, and having time to just taxi and drop our bags off at the hotel, I was ready to get out there and start adventuring. Before, while researching for this trip, I stumbled across some exciting news - MOOD fabric store, the setting for my favorite fashion show, Project Runway, was only three blocks away from my hotel! So I dragged my companions with me to the store and was in heaven. Not only was I standing where the legendary Tim Gunn said "thank you MOOD", but I was surrounded by the largest selection of gorgeous fabrics, trims and notions. Gah!
We stumbled across a classic New York City market on our way through Times Square - filled to the brim with cheap sunglasses, $5 scarves, and so many accessories, and so many people.
My Greek-loving dad would be proud. I knew right away this was Hercules - do you know what gives him away?
No, it's not his chiseled abs.. Hercules always poses with a lion pelt:)
The MET was amazing! You can literally spend all day here - we were only able to visit the Costume Exhibit, and also the temporary Charles James Exhibit, and those alone took a couple hours. This is a definite must-see in NYC.
While this is the place where my phone was lost/stolen... it was a favorite stop of mine. Central Park is incredible, and until you walk through it you don't realize how amazing it is to have such a huge park in the middle of this even huger city.
Also, this kid was adorable - and already flipping wheels.
That night we went to a little french restaurant, and had the most delicious fried chicken.. yes, fried chicken.
