Colorblocking: Easy Tote DIY

Materials Needed:
1. 1/2 yard of heavy canvas in a natural or white color
2. 1/2 yard of printed or solid fabric for lining - I used a plastic coated cotton fabric; these are great because they offer some water-proof resistance, and are easy to turn inside out and wipe clean. They often have this type of fabric at Field's Fabrics or you can find online.
3. Fabric paint/paintbrushes
4. Painter's tape
Instructions:
1. Cut two rectangles 14" X 16" of both the canvas and the lining
2. Sew sides and bottom together of canvas - then do the same for the lining
3. Turn canvas right-side-out, fold and iron down top 1/2" - do same for lining
4. Stick lining inside canvas bag, with unfinished edges together so you have a clean lining
5. Match tops together and sew 1/8" down
6. Cut straps to desired length to be comfortable on your should under your arm, then pin straps 4" from sides of bags, and sew down.
7. Once the bag is all finished, mark with painter's tape a straight line that goes around the bag to mark how high you want your accent color to go, and paint away! Hang to dry for a good two hours then you're good to go:)
