Window of Opportunity: Refashion DIY

A few weeks ago I was able to visit one of my favorite Michigan lake side towns with my mom. The main reason I suggested visiting this particular town was because of a little antique store I had been to a few years ago, and had always wanted to go back. I wanted to go back, because in one stuffed corner there are stacks of rubber-maids filled with antique trims, fabrics, laces, and much much more. And guess what.

Yup. That ^ = That v

Hanging on a rack of old notions and draperies was this old set of kitchen window curtains. Weird,  I know, I'm wearing curtains. But I loved the pattern and the crocheted detailings - it reminded me of something I would see in Anthropolgie (A DIY store heaven), and I thought there was some potential in those old drapes. Call me Sister Maria Von Trapp, but I think she was on to something.

Check out the pattern I used below to transform this into skirt.

Like the photography you see here? Yeah, me too - this lady knows how to make me look good. Check out Allison Christians Photography - I don't think you'll be disappointed, there's usually way to many cute babies on her blog.
