Green with Envy
Wow! I am blown away by how many likes I've been receiving in the first 24 hours of posting a Facebook page to make it easier to follow this blog - so thank you! If you haven't yet, and want to keep up-to-date on my posts like here and you'll be a gem in my book :) Ps. I'm waiting to hear from Allison Christians to see who won her photo shoot, and who's the lucky person getting a turban headband.
I am gearing up for a vacation week starting on Saturday that's going to bring me to a week-long cottaging family reunion celebration, followed by my first trip to the big city - New York City! So as you can imagine, there is quite a bit of packing to be done. Especially since these two trips, one right after the other, have vastly different dress codes. I'll be packing comfy layers for the cottage, and easy pieces that can be paired with some fun statement accessories or jackets for the city. And don't get me started on shoes... there are too many shoes to pack. Packing, I think at least, is something everyone struggles with - having too little or having too much, or not quite being prepared. So be on the look out for my packing list in the next couple days.
On to the outfit! Let me tell you how ecstatic I was when I found this skirt. There are a lot of different lengths of skirts, from mini, to midi, to maxi - but I have to admit that the midi is my absolute favorite. Being taller and a more curvy physique these skirts help draw attention to your strengths. You want the skirt to hit at your natural waist, which is a few inches below the smallest part of your torso, and then they are especially flattering paired with a little heel. This helps elongate the bottom half of your legs, and make the skirt look even more fantastic! You may not have noticed my favorite part of the skirt... but there is a double slit as well, which makes it feel more youthful and fun. I paired it with a form-fitting top that I made myself and cut-out thick heels from Cat Footwear (they have great boots!)
