Chunky Monkey and the Chain Gang
One of my favorite fall looks is chunky necklaces and buttoned up plaids. It's an easy way to add an element of glam to your plaid (and the added warmth from buttoning up isn't so bad either :) )
But some of those chunky necklaces can be quite expensive, so I've found an easy no-sew alternative!
Steps:
1. Got to your local thrift store and head to the jewelry counter - pick out 3 or 4 brooches/pins/pendants or a similar metal.
2. Purchase 15 inches of a satin rope from the home materials section at your fabric store, along with a matching ribbon.
3. Arrange pins/brooches/pendants onto center of rope, then pin, hot glue, or sew the pieces on.
4. Hot glue ribbon, rapping the ribbon around the edges of the rope - using a ribbon will allow you to change your necklace into varying lengths!
5. Wall-luh! Pair your new necklace with your favorite button-up
This second necklace I made is even simpler than the first! Taking three antique brooches I pinned them on a rope and chain twisted necklace. So easy!
